Abstract: All known glaciations on a world scale since the Precambrian are included. There are six detailed chapters on the Quaternary in North America, Siberia, Scandinavia and South America. A further seven chapters cover glaciation in the Carboniferous-Permian in many continents. Finally there are chapters on cold region weathering processes, including the formation of paleosols, peat, coal and related stratigraphy.
