Three-dimensional simulation of river ice jams / Mark A. Hopkins, Steven F. Daly, James H. Lever.
Title: | Three-dimensional simulation of river ice jams / Mark A. Hopkins, Steven F. Daly, James H. Lever. |
Author(s): | Hopkins, Mark A. Daly, Steven F. Lever, James H. |
Date: | 1996. |
Publisher: | New York: American Society of Civil Engineers |
In: | Cold Regions Engineering. The Cold Regions Infrastructure : an International Imperative for the 21st Century. Proceedings of the 8th International Conference, held 12-16 August 1996, Fairbanks, AK. (1996.), |
Abstract: | Uses three-dimensional discrete element model coupled with one-dimensional depth-averaged unsteady hydraulic model to simulate river ice jam formation. Calculates energetics of ice jam formation, and simulates ice accumulation at river constrictions and behind ice control structures. |
