Record #141807:

Acoustic emission during fatigue experiments on first year sea ice / Patricia J. Langhorne, T.G. Haskell.

Title: Acoustic emission during fatigue experiments on first year sea ice / Patricia J. Langhorne, T.G. Haskell.
Author(s): Langhorne, Patricia J.
Haskell, T. G.
Date: 1996.
In: Cold Regions Science and Technology. (1996.), Vol. 24 (1996)
Abstract: Measures acoustic emission events, finding travel times consistent with Rayleigh waves being detected. Estimates high frequency attenuation of Rayleigh waves in sea ice giving measurement of magnitude and compares this with data for compressional waves. Measured emissions may originate from microcracking or dislocation breakaway.
