Air convection embankments for roadway construction in permafrost zones / Douglas J. Goering.
Title: | Air convection embankments for roadway construction in permafrost zones / Douglas J. Goering. |
Author(s): | Goering, Douglas J. |
Date: | 1996. |
Publisher: | New York: American Society of Civil Engineers |
In: | Cold Regions Engineering. The Cold Regions Infrastructure : an International Imperative for the 21st Century. Proceedings of the 8th International Conference, held 12-16 August 1996, Fairbanks, AK. (1996.), |
Abstract: | Investigates technique for protecting roadways from damage due to thermal degradation of underlying permafrost, using open graded aggregate for constructing major part of embankment which helps preserve permafrost layer. Numerical results and field observations show good agreement and accuracy. |
