Women in a changing labour market / Ritva Linnakangas, Anneli Pohjola, Leena Viinamäki.

Title: Women in a changing labour market / Ritva Linnakangas, Anneli Pohjola, Leena Viinamäki.
Author(s): Linnakangas, Ritva.
Pohjola, Anneli.
Viinamäki, Leena.
Date: 1996.
Publisher: Oulu, Finland: University of Oulu
In: On the terms of northern woman. Articles written by women researchers in Finland, Russia, Samiland and Sweden. (1996.),
Abstract: Percentage of women in Finnish labour market is one of West's highest. They are usually seen as crisis buffer, and family woman applying for job is seen to be hampered, while similar man is seen as stable. Paradox of women accepting poor salaries and lack of esteem is answered by fact that work has absolute value for women - "own time" and significant social relationships. Aspects of redundancy and of adult education are discussed.
