Abstract: Very few northern writers have place in new history of Finnish women's literature, and none are Saami, trebly marginalised. Example is Annikki Kariniemi (1913-1984), half Saami, who wrote 30 works, starting with Poro-Kristiina, "Reindeer Kristiina", omitted from history, and also Laulu Lapista ja Lapin papista about priest coming to convert Lapps and two young women, rather stereotyped, on either side of resulting division. Other authors and their themes are sketched.
