Abstract: | Presents aspects of northern Norwegian agriculture, role of women in food production and looks to future. Formerly most units in Norway were run by women; men fished, logged, hunted or worked in mines. In 1950s programme sought to mechanise and specialise. Subsistence economy became monetary, monocultural. Author considers that women's status and good ecology are at risk while State goes blindly ahead. |
