| Abstract: | Aim is to describe background and development of some of many solutions tried at present time. Youth concerned are "new Saami", sea Saami, "mountain Finns", migratory Saami and "bastards" from inland. Work was compiled during two field periods, one of nine months in Finnmark and one of six in Kåfjord (Gáivuona), North Troms. Saami movement in Kåfjord became known as GSN. Chapters concern: GSN, ethnicity, Davvi Nuorra (Northern Youth), aspects of Saami perceptions in Kautokeino/Guovdageaidnu, relationship to Third World, and paradoxes in identity. |
