Abstract: Corvus corax breeds over much of Iceland and is seen as pest. Polulation in mid-1980s was 13 000 birds in autumn. Since 1995, 6000 - 7000 have been registered as killed annually. Article reports monitoring in NE Iceland from 1981-1998, 5327 km². 141 nesting territories are known. Data shows that kill has been greater than young production. No studies have been made on whether hunt has benefited water fowl population.
