Abstract: Many plants were recognised as remedies against scurvy, including cloudberries. Literary sources indicate extensive use of scurvy grass, especially in Finnmark, during 17t and 18th Cents. Plants were stored in barrels, sometimes salted, and used as kind of cabbage in winter. Scurvy there was primarily sickness of coast Norwegians and their animals. Article describes some places where scurvy grass was found. Its use as medicine died out in early 19th Cent.
