Abstract: In Finland weathering crust developed on Precambrian granulite, granite gneiss and amphibolate, while in Bangladesh bedrock was Tertiary-Quaternary sediment. First crust can be regarded as fossilized by climate, but second is recent. 110 samples were taken, usually down to 2 m. Chemical composition of crust indicates Early Cretaceous into Middle Miocene in Finland and humid, tropical climate in Bangladesh.
