In: Late Quaternary palaeoceanography of the North Atlantic Margins. (1996.),
Abstract: S-N transect of sediment cores is used to determine millenial scale variability of sea surface temperatures (SST's) and strength of S-N SST gradients in North Atlantic. Time lags, instability during Bølling-Allerød period, and presence of temperature gradient at Arctic front can all be deduced from cores. SST gradients have implications for magnitude of oceanic heat pump and atmospheric circulation patterns of late glacial period.
