Record #140216:

Thermobaric effect on buoyancy-driven convection in cold seawater / Terje Brinck Loyning.

Title: Thermobaric effect on buoyancy-driven convection in cold seawater / Terje Brinck Loyning.
Author(s): Brinck Loyning, Terje.
Date: 1996.
Publisher: Cambridge: Sea Ice Group, Scott Polar Research Institute, University of Cambridge
In: ESOP. European Subpolar Ocean Programme. Sea ice - ocean interactions. Volume 2. (1996.),
Abstract: The role of pressure in the convection process in cold sea water is treated theoretically with special reference to the Greenland Sea. Shows that thermobaric convection occurs under certain defined conditions, and that it may be important also in more shallow layers near the surface.
