Record #140182:

Oppfrisking av vegetasjon i Longyearbyen / J. Låg.

Title: Oppfrisking av vegetasjon i Longyearbyen / J. Låg.
Translated title: Renewal of vegetation in Longyearbyen.
Author(s): Låg, J.
Date: 1996.
Language: Norwegian.
In: Polarboken. (1996.), (1996)
Abstract: Some attempts had been made to repair damage from mining and its infrastructure, but soil itself had become too acid. Some highly alkaline rock, pH 9.8, was found and streams lined with it, but poisoned soil still needed to be removed. Some acid-tolerating plants are given. Locally-occurring turves and new soil material seem to be best way to renew bare patches.
