Record #140083:

Occurrence of hermaphroditism in a dioecious plant, Rubus chamaemorus, in northern Finland / Marketta Gustafsson, Jouko Kortesharju.

Title: Occurrence of hermaphroditism in a dioecious plant, Rubus chamaemorus, in northern Finland / Marketta Gustafsson, Jouko Kortesharju.
Author(s): Gustafsson, Marketta.
Kortesharju, Jouko.
Date: 1996.
In: Aquilo. Series Botanica. (1996.), Vol. 36 (1996)
Abstract: Samples from two hermaphrodite stands of cloudberry found in 1970s were transferred to cultivation field at Kolari and observations were made on these and on specimens in natural mire. Results suggest that hermaphroditism has genetic base in cloudberry, strongly influenced by environment. In natural mire female flowers with different degrees of hermaphroditism could be near in same rhizome. Formation of stamina did not reduce number of pistils, and hermaphrodite flowers opened at same time as female flowers.
