Abstract: Arguments for protecting ecosphere from undue interference are and must be mainly utilitarian. Polar regions are exception. Four levels of abstention from interference may be distinguished. Population growth and corresponding growth in eco-tourism are considered. Tourist supervisors must have strong beliefs that constrain them from accepting bribes to damage nature.
