Record #139996:

Landslides and relict ice margin landforms in Adventdalen, central Spitsbergen, Svalbard / Takanobu Sawagaki, Takashi Koaze.

Title: Landslides and relict ice margin landforms in Adventdalen, central Spitsbergen, Svalbard / Takanobu Sawagaki, Takashi Koaze.
Author(s): Sawagaki, Takanobu.
Koaze, Takashi.
Date: 1996.
In: Polar Research. (1996.), Vol. 15(2) (1996)
Abstract: Landslides in middle ranges of Adventdalen comprise large-scale bedrock slumps which form hummocky surface; fourteen landslide blocks are recognised. Drainage channels consist of tributary rivers to Adventelva, either parallel or oblique to main river. Glacial deposits cover ridges between tributaries. Upper and lower landslide divisions may indicate former positions of ice surface. Results strongly suggest existence of stagnant ice or minor re-advance phases during deglaciation.
