Record #139988:

Arctic '96: Polarstern ice station report / Mikko Lensu, and 8 others.

Title: Arctic '96: Polarstern ice station report / Mikko Lensu, and 8 others.
Author(s): Lensu, Mikko.
Date: 1996.
Publisher: Helsinki: Helsinki University of Technology, Ship Laboratory
Abstract: Arctic '96 constituted the ARK12 cruise of RV Polarstern and IB Oden in the Arctic Ocean during July-September 1996. The objective was to study the ocean circulation and mixing in the St. Anna and Voronin troughs, in the Nansen-Amundsen-Makarov basins, across the Lomonosov Ridge and across the basin slopes of the Laptev Sea. Thirty-seven ice stations were taken during the hydrographic stations, lasting between two to five hours. Work includes ice thickness measurements and ridge-sail levelling, with ice coring, radiometer, helicopter-borne laser altimeter, and trafficability measurements.
