| Abstract: | Following protocol from 23rd session of Norwegian-Russian Fisheries Commission, it was agreed to test sorting grid systems in 1995 before deciding on introducing such systems in cod trawling in Barents Sea. Four sets of trials were carried out, varying use of covers, blinders, "Sort-X" and single- grid trawls. Both latter had very good release of small fish. Most important trials were commercial type with codends. |
