Record #139930:

Związki miȩdzy cyrkulacją termohalinową w północnym Atlantyku a warunkami klimatycznymi w Arktyce / Jerzy Cyberski.

Title: Związki miȩdzy cyrkulacją termohalinową w północnym Atlantyku a warunkami klimatycznymi w Arktyce / Jerzy Cyberski.
Translated title: Relationship between thermohaline circulation in North Atlantic and the climatic conditions in the Arctic.
Author(s): Cyberski, Jerzy.
Date: 1996.
Publisher: Gdynia, Poland: Wyźsza Szkoła Morska
Language: Polish.
In: Problemy Klimatologii Polarnej. (1996.), Vol. 6 (1996)
Abstract: Most complicated processes are seen in northern seas, where deep mixing takes place within Greenland Sea Eddy, where convection is bottom-deep, and in Iceland Sea, where convection reaches intermediate depths. Two things affect maximum depth of convection: stratification of water column and ice conditions. Convection may be changed or stopped by small changes in transfer of water of decreased salinity. Results of long data series analysis show good correlation between oceanographic and meteorological properties.
