Abstract: Discusses contributions made by Belmore Browne and Adolph Murie to protection of wolves in McKinley Park. Murie, in particular, demonstrated the ecological role played by wolves and thus helped preserve them from extermination policies practiced in other national parks during 1930s and 1940s.
