Can regulation of freshwater runoff in Hudson Bay affect the climate of the North Atlantic? / Paul H. LeBlond, John R.N. Lazier, Andrew J. Weaver.
Title: | Can regulation of freshwater runoff in Hudson Bay affect the climate of the North Atlantic? / Paul H. LeBlond, John R.N. Lazier, Andrew J. Weaver. |
Author(s): | LeBlond, Paul H. Lazier, John R. N. Weaver, Andrew J. |
Date: | 1996. |
In: | Arctic. (1996.), Vol. 49(4) (1996) |
Abstract: | Examines influence of changes in timing of freshwater runoff on oceanography of Hudson Bay and potential downstream effects into Labrador Sea following Mysack's (1993) suggestion that cumulative hydro-electric development around Hudson Bay could affect rate of overturning in Labrador Sea, weakening global thermohaline circulation, and thus result in cooler climate in Europe and eastern North America. |
Notes: | Arctic. Vol. 49(4) :348-358 (1996). |
