Record #139498:

Effects of landscape matrix and habitat structure on a bird community in northern Finland: a multi-scale approach / Jukka Jokimäki, Esa Huhta.

Title: Effects of landscape matrix and habitat structure on a bird community in northern Finland: a multi-scale approach / Jukka Jokimäki, Esa Huhta.
Author(s): Jokimäki, Jukka.
Huhta, Esa.
Date: 1996.
In: Ornis Fennica. (1996.), Vol. 73(3) (1996)
Abstract: Study was carried out on 20 areas in northern Finland. 68 species and 7974 pairs were observed over 6 years. Abundances of birds correlated with different factors at different scales. Edge effect was most important at small scale. Landscape matrix components were more important than habitat components for managed forest species and willow warbler, but reverse was true for migratory species and pied flycatcher. Other conclusions were recorded.
