Record #139454:

Näkökulmia saamelaisen poronhoitoon yhdentyvässä Euroopassa - tapaustutkimuksena Käsivarren paliskunta / Petri Raasakka.

Title: Näkökulmia saamelaisen poronhoitoon yhdentyvässä Euroopassa - tapaustutkimuksena Käsivarren paliskunta / Petri Raasakka.
Translated title: The point of view of Saami reindeer herding in the European Union - a case study of the Käsivarsi cooperative.
Author(s): Raasakka, Petri.
Date: 1996.
Language: Finnish.
In: Arktisen keskuksen tiedotteita = Arctic Centre Reports. (1996.), Vol. 14 (1996)
Abstract: Paper delivered May 1995 sketches some of most obvious factors changing Finland's reindeer herding economy and structure due to membership of EU. It names issues reflecting adaptation on national level and then at local level. Käsivarsi adapted well, but was probably exceptional. It regards subsidy as bringing many "unhealthy" connotations to herding and ties it ever more tightly to market economy. (Addendum in April 1996 refers to new, positive effect of market, Swedish VAT change and sales in Norway on meat price.
