Abstract: Statement covers four priority areas: 1) safety measures at nuclear facilities; 2) management, storage and disposal of spent nuclear fuel and radioactive waste; 3) dumping of radioactive waste in sea, and inputs from rivers; 4) arms-related environmental hazards. 1) Money has been allotted by Norway; 2) Norway has offered to build special vessel for 15 years' service in transporting spent fuel, and to help with other construction; 3) opinion is that it is low level and safer left alone; 4) Norway has seismic stations, part of global monitoring system, and cooperates against illegal trafficking.
