Abstract: In 1992 author took part in joint Dutch-Russian expedition to search Novaya Zemlya for signs of Barents's third expedition. First known discovery was by E. Carlsen of Norway in 1871, followed by five others, last in 1992. More and more has been brought back from these visits, and only timber outline of Safe House remains.
