Record #139293:

Wavelet analysis and visualization of the formation and evolution of low total ozone events over northern Sweden / Beth L. Weinberg, S. Roland Drayson, Katherine Freese.

Title: Wavelet analysis and visualization of the formation and evolution of low total ozone events over northern Sweden / Beth L. Weinberg, S. Roland Drayson, Katherine Freese.
Author(s): Weinberg, Beth L.
Drayson, S. Roland.
Freese, Katherine.
Date: 1996.
In: Geophysical Research Letters. (1996.), Vol. 23(17) (1996)
Abstract: Abnormally low total ozone events last about 3 days. Wavelet analysis is performed on 13 years of daily total column ozone from Nimbus-7 mapping spectrometer. Analysis showed that 96% of low ozone events result from simultaneous interaction of ozone-depleting processes. Two other criteria are discussed; as they rarely occur together, LTO events should be as rare as they are - averaging 4.7 per annum.
