Waterfowl and wetland ecology in Alaska / James S. Sedinger.

Title: Waterfowl and wetland ecology in Alaska / James S. Sedinger.
Author(s): Sedinger, James S.
Date: 1996.
Publisher: Berlin: Springer
In: Freshwaters of Alaska : ecological syntheses. (1996.),
Abstract: Examines factors affecting distribution of waterfowl in Alaska and their use of inland freshwater wetlands and coastal wetlands that are infrequently influenced by tide. Reviews basic requirements of waterfowl during breeding, moulting and migration periods and how meeting these requirements is influenced by wetland processes. Then considers wetland processes themselves and concludes with review of waterfowl distribution in Alaska and discussion of linkages among various temporal and spatial scales of consideration necessary to understand Alaskan waterfowl ecology.
