Record #139217:

Gross anatomy of the gastro-intestinal tract in reindeer, free- living and fed baled timothy silage in summer and winter / Tove Hilde Aagnes, Svein D. Mathiesen.

Title: Gross anatomy of the gastro-intestinal tract in reindeer, free- living and fed baled timothy silage in summer and winter / Tove Hilde Aagnes, Svein D. Mathiesen.
Author(s): Aagnes, Tove Hilde.
Mathiesen, Svein D.
Date: 1996.
In: Rangifer. (1996.), Vol. 16(1) (1996)
Abstract: In summer 1992 and winter 1993 9 male calves were taken from natural pasture, 3 slaughtered, 3 offered first cut silage for 46 days and 3 offered regrowth silage for same period. Reticulo-rumen and distal fermentation digesta wet weights were found. Results seem to show that gastro-intestinal gross anatomy in silage fed animals is highly affected by plant structure and composition, not by season.
