Sørsamisk reindrift i etterkrigstiden / Dag T. Elgvin.

Title: Sørsamisk reindrift i etterkrigstiden / Dag T. Elgvin.
Translated title: South Saami reindeer herding after the war.
Author(s): Elgvin, Dag T.
Date: 1996.
Language: Norwegian.
In: Ottar. (1996.), Vol. 3 (1996)
Abstract: South Saami reindeer herding is noted for its high productivity. Article describes conditions for restructuring in south. Today's satisfactory position, where numbers are agreed, meat production improved, pastures preserved, was only reached after two decades of turmoil. Infrastructure (it included a really helpful, knowledgeable Lapp bailiff) needs to be there and Saami need to recognise its merits. Moreover, in South Trøndelag case there were only 11 families to deal with. Finnmark has 259.
