Abstract: Reindeer were probably one of first mammals to re-settle Norway after Ice Age. They have affected landscape and flora over thousands of years. Their trails over stony wastes are marked by green paths that they have manured, and of course where they have concentrated cover is different. Trees can be prevented from growing or have their shapes modified by grazing.
