Newtontoppen granitoid rocks, their geology, chemistry and Rb-Sr age / A.M. Teben'kov, Y. Ohta, Ju.A. Balašov, A.N. Sirotkin.
Title: | Newtontoppen granitoid rocks, their geology, chemistry and Rb-Sr age / A.M. Teben'kov, Y. Ohta, Ju.A. Balašov, A.N. Sirotkin. |
Author(s): | Teben'kov, A. M. Ohta, Y. Balašov, Ju. A. Sirotkin, A. N. |
Date: | 1996. |
In: | Polar Research. (1996.), Vol. 15(1) (1996) |
Abstract: | Post-tectonic Caledonian granite in southern Ny Friesland has been fully mapped and new names are proposed: Chydeniusbreen granitoid suite, consisting of Rausberget body in north, Newtontoppen body in middle and Ekkoknausane body in south. Contact relationships, internal structures and distribution of rock types imply asymmetric lopolith or harpolith-like body, large sickle-shaped intrusion stretched in direction of general tectonic transport, for Newtontoppen body. Seven rock types are described and four emplacement stages. Age is shifted by 30 Ma from previous date. |
Notes: | Polar Research. Vol. 15(1) :67-80 (1996). |
Keywords: | 551.1/.4 -- Geology. 551.24 -- Geotectonics. 552.321.1 -- Granite. B -- Geology and soil sciences. (*3) -- Arctic regions. (*32) -- Svalbard. |
