Record #138263:

Marine birds in the marginal ice zone of the Barents Sea in late winter and spring / George L. Hunt, Jr, Vidar Bakken, Fridtjof Mehlum.

Title: Marine birds in the marginal ice zone of the Barents Sea in late winter and spring / George L. Hunt, Jr, Vidar Bakken, Fridtjof Mehlum.
Author(s): Hunt, George L.,
Bakken, Vidar.
Mehlum, Fridtjof.
Date: 1996.
In: Arctic. (1996.), (1996)
Abstract: Periods were Feb-Mar and May 1988. Birds were more abundant in waters associated with pack ice than in open water. Thick-billed murres (Uria lomvia) were commonest in both periods, with densities positively correlated with distance from ice edge. Avian patches were of short duration. More information is needed on prey patches to explain bird distribution.
Notes:
