| Abstract: | Summarizes capabilities of SAR for snow-cover monitoring and glacier investigation. Multi-parameter SAR and multi-temporal single channel SAR can discriminate firn areas and ablation areas, giving valuable information for mass balance studies. Tested in Ötztal Alps, Austria. Develops algorithm for mapping melting snow areas in mountain regions. |
