Abstract: Results of investigations in Cherskiy region, which form part of study of permafrost regions of Northern Hemisphere. Soils studied are within three major physiographic settings, and objectives are to collect baseline data about nature and distribution of permafrost-affected soils and evaluate usefulness of existing soil classification systems.
