| Abstract: | Sailing conditions around Greenland are shown diagramatically for different ports and around year and questions about their variability and relationship to currents are posed. Vertical cross-sections at Bering and Fram Straits show main bodies of water at these locations. Movement of bergs is illustrated from satellite photos taken at intervals of one day and results of mathematical modelling are shown. Vertical migration of salt pencil in freezing seawater is explained. |
