Record #137104:

On the sensitivity of Holocene talus-derived rock glaciers to climate change in the Ben Ohau Range, New Zealand / Martin P. Kirkbride, Vanessa Brazier.

Title: On the sensitivity of Holocene talus-derived rock glaciers to climate change in the Ben Ohau Range, New Zealand / Martin P. Kirkbride, Vanessa Brazier.
Author(s): Kirkbride, Martin P.
Brazier, Vanessa.
Date: 1995.
In: Journal of Quaternary Science : JQS. (1995.), Vol. 10(4) (1995)
Abstract: Study of mophology and surface age leads to a conceptual model of rock glacier formation with two thresholds: presence of a cool climate and presence of sufficiently thick talus to generate adequate shear stress to induce movement. The ability of this model to explain the phenomena is discussed.
