Record #136846:
Cryptorhythmic and macrorhythmic layering in aegirine lujavrite, Ilímaussaq alkine intrusion, South Greenland / J.C. Bailey.
Title: | Cryptorhythmic and macrorhythmic layering in aegirine lujavrite, Ilímaussaq alkine intrusion, South Greenland / J.C. Bailey. |
Author(s): | Bailey, J. C. |
Date: | 1995. |
In: | Geological Society of Denmark. Bulletin. (1995.), Vol. 42(1) (1995) |
Abstract: | Cryptorhythmic layering was established in 200 m drill core through layered aegirine-eudialyte nepheline syenite, aegirine lujavrite I. Within each cryptorhythmic unit, content of Y in cumulus eudialyte is constant, but there is sharp increase to new fixed value in next unit. Crystallization of cryptorhythmic units from chemically distinct double-diffusive liquid layers in lujavrite I magma and of macrorhythmic units by repeated in situ crystallization on floor of Ilímaussaq magma chamber is discussed. |
