Title: Sea ice landing strip for Boeing 727 in northern Greenland / Nirmal K. Sinha.
Author(s): Sinha, Nirmal K.
Date: 1995.
Publisher: USA: American Society of Mechanical Engineers
In: OMAE 1995. Proceedings of the 14th International Conference on Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering, June 18-22 1995, Copenhagen, Denmark. Volume IV - Arctic/Polar Technology. (1995.),
Abstract: First-year 2.3 m thick ice cover in Frederick Hyde Fjord was used as operational runway for First Air Boeing 727. 16 landings were made after an elasto-delayed-elastic calculation showed that the ice should bear, and response of ice cover during parking was monitored.
