Record #136206:

Late Quaternary glacial and environmental history of Kongsøya, Svalbard / Ólafur Ingólfsson, and six others.

Title: Late Quaternary glacial and environmental history of Kongsøya, Svalbard / Ólafur Ingólfsson, and six others.
Author(s): Ingólfsson, Ólafur.
Date: 1995.
In: Polar Research. (1995.), Vol. 14(2) (1995)
Abstract: Three sequences of sediments are seen in sections 50-90 m above sea level. They show major glaciations in northern Barents Sea. Till fabrics indicate locally controlled ice movements, while glaciotectonic deformations suggest ice divide north of Kongsøya independent of local topography. Two pre-Holocene ice-free periods are seen. Younger could be Eemian or Early Weichselian. High postglacial marine limit was about 10 000 BP.
