Record #136118:

Minturn cirkler - et nyt glacialt faenomen / Peter W. Uitterdijk Appel.

Title: Minturn cirkler - et nyt glacialt faenomen / Peter W. Uitterdijk Appel.
Translated title: Minturn circles - a new glacial phenomenon.
Author(s): Appel, Peter W. Uitterdijk.
Date: 1995.
Language: Danish.
In: Danmarks og Grønlands Geologiske Undersøgelse. Årsberetning. (1995.), (1995)
Abstract: Round structures, often black, sometimes raised, up to 60 m in diameter are found in north-west Greenland, particularly along river Minturn. They were first thought to be possible kimberlite pipes or even meteorite craters. Article explains how conspicuous examples are formed from ice-borne stones and shown up by lichen. 300 have been seen in all. Shape is thought to be caused by meandering meltwater on Inland Ice.
