Record #135917:

Controls on calving rate and basal sliding: observations from Columbia Glacier, Alaska, prior to and during its rapid retreat, 1976-1993 / C.J. Van der Veen.

Title: Controls on calving rate and basal sliding: observations from Columbia Glacier, Alaska, prior to and during its rapid retreat, 1976-1993 / C.J. Van der Veen.
Author(s): Van der Veen, C. J.
Date: 1995.
In: Byrd Polar Research Center. BPRC Report. (1995.), Vol. 11 (1995)
Abstract: Discusses data collected by USGS (Tacoma) on glacier prior to, and during its rapid retreat. During retreat, rate of calving increased almost seven-fold, but since glacier speed also increased, actual rate of retreat increased only slowly.
