Record #135891:
U-Pb zircon ages from the Eskolabreen Formation, southern Ny Friesland, Svalbard / Alexander N. Larionov, Åke Johansson, Alexander M. Tebenkov, Alexander N. Sirotkin.
Title: | U-Pb zircon ages from the Eskolabreen Formation, southern Ny Friesland, Svalbard / Alexander N. Larionov, Åke Johansson, Alexander M. Tebenkov, Alexander N. Sirotkin. |
Author(s): | Larionov, Alexander N. Johansson, Åke. Tebenkov, Alexander M. Sirotkin, Alexander N. |
Date: | 1995. |
In: | Norsk Geologisk Tidsskrift. (1995.), Vol. 75(4) (1995) |
Abstract: | Formation is lowest unit in pile of Caledonian Hecla Hoek succession and is exposed core of Atomfjella Antiform. It is composed of strongly deformed and banded migmatic gneisses and amphibolites and intercalated granitic gneisses. Dating yields poorly defined upper intercept age of 1800 Ma. Lower intercept age is 400 Ma. Results show importance of c. 1.7 Ga tectothermal event within basement units of Ny Friesland Caledonides. |
