Abstract: Describes Sør-Helgeland's island chain. Once viable community, it is mostly abandoned, and cultivated landscape is reverting to nature, but not to original vegetation. Incoming plants do not prevent erosion, whose worst cause is vole Arvicola amphibius. Nordland has financed Project Lånan to try to restore variety; one method is to cut meadowsweet Filipendula ulmaria, which voles feed on.
