Record #135788:

Seismic stratigraphy and tectonics of the Loppa High, western Barents Sea / Erik Palmlöv.

Title: Seismic stratigraphy and tectonics of the Loppa High, western Barents Sea / Erik Palmlöv.
Author(s): Palmlöv, Erik.
Date: 1995.
Publisher: Stockholm: Department of Geology and Geochemistry, University
Abstract: Loppa High is elongated, tilted structural high with NNE-SSW trend, at faulted western margin of northern Norwegian Continental Shelf. Seismic techniques have identified 8 stratigraphic sequences from upper Palaeozoic to Quaternary. Area is influenced by several tectonic phases including tensional and compressional regimes. Seismic anomaly of reflection-free pattern extends down from basal Tertiary level, explained by gas in sediments. Considerable petroleum potential is indicated.
