Record #135609:

Stratigraphical evidence of a considerable Younger Dryas glacier advance in southeastern Norway / Bjorn Bergstrøm.

Title: Stratigraphical evidence of a considerable Younger Dryas glacier advance in southeastern Norway / Bjorn Bergstrøm.
Author(s): Bergstrøm, Bjorn,
Date: 1995.
In: Norsk Geologisk Tidsskrift. (1995.), Vol. 75(2/3) (1995)
Abstract: Radiocarbon dating of molluscs from marine sediments below a till bed indcates that the ice front advanced between 11,000 and 10,600 years BP and formed Younger Dryas end moraines. Variations in glacier behaviour in this region indicates that there was a higher snow accumulation in the western part of the Scandinavian ice sheet. Glacier redvance may have resulted from an active ice dome in the Hardangervidda mountain plateau.
