Economic crisis led to unemployment, penury and economic slump. Old relationships broke down and social conflict ensued. Workers' movements grew, accompanied by strikes and demonstrations. Women entered politics and organizations. As recovery began, war threatened and broke out. Last section deals with German occupation, resistance, everyday in wartime and final stages, including evacuation of Finnmark and North Troms. |
