Record #135555:
Coastal morpho-stratigraphy and Holocene relative sea level changes at Tuapaat, south-eastern Disko Island, central West Greenland / Morten Rasch, Niels Nielsen.
Title: | Coastal morpho-stratigraphy and Holocene relative sea level changes at Tuapaat, south-eastern Disko Island, central West Greenland / Morten Rasch, Niels Nielsen. |
Author(s): | Rasch, Morten. Nielsen, Niels. |
Date: | 1995. |
In: | Polar Research. (1995.), Vol. 14(3) (1995) |
Abstract: | Geomorphology is described and morpho-stratigraphy constructed. ¹⁴C ages on marine shells, whale bones, peat and gyttja are used to reconstruct sea level changes. SE Island emerged in early Holocene. Sea has probably been below present level for last 4.7 ka. Stratigraphy in lowest part suggests at least 3-4 transgressions during last 2.5 ka. |
Notes: | Polar Research. Vol. 14(3) :277-289 (1995). |
