Record #135310:

Tracking of Antarctic tabular icebergs using passive microwave radiometry (Remote Sensing Letter) / Helen A. Phillips, Seymour W.C. Laxon.

Title: Tracking of Antarctic tabular icebergs using passive microwave radiometry (Remote Sensing Letter) / Helen A. Phillips, Seymour W.C. Laxon.
Author(s): Phillips, Helen A.
Laxon, Seymour W. C.
Date: 1995.
In: International Journal of Remote Sensing. (1995.), Vol. 16(2) (1995)
Abstract: Two giant icebergs, 50km by 100km, which calved from the Larsen ice shelf were tracked using 85 GHz images from the SSM/I radiometer. This has a resolution at 85 Ghz of 15 km, with good brightness temperature contrast between iceberg and ocean. The tracks of both icebergs reveal motion in sympathy with observed oceanographic currents, as well as meanders and eddies.
