Abstract: Describes Doppler radar system, analyzes contributions to measurement error inherent in system, determines error bounds, and develops data processing methods to minimize error in velocity measurement. Makes quantitative comparisons of measured ice velocity between radar and video techniques for both breakup and frazil events. Considers methods for enhancing accuracy of method.
